The Shopping List

“For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it? Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish.’ Or what king, going out to encounter another king in war, will not sit down first and deliberate whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? And if not, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks for terms of peace”   – Luke 14:28-33

Before we begin the #FeedYourSoul plan, we must lay our foundation. Today is dedicated to putting your shopping list together. The list will consist of two categories, food and self-care. A grocery list helps to get everything needed without placing unhealthy things into the cart and helps stay within budget. As you go through the aisle, check off each item along the way. The previous days have prepared you for today, so if your not sure what you need, return to previous days. Make sure to include all the Self-care items you may need. The goal is to get organized and count the cost in order to be fully prepared for the weeks to come.

During my #FeedYourSoul plan, I included journaling as my Inner Self-Care. Before I began, I wrote an entry. When I finished my plan, I was able to look back and see where I started at. Although, it didn’t feel like much had change, I was able to see the difference in my mood, attitude and overall outlook on life. I had gone from down and depressed to motivated and grateful. I found that journaling played a big role in my plan, and recommend for others to try also. If you decided to start journaling, make sure to add a journal to your shopping list. I also purchased a pack of colored pens, to have some fun with it. I used my journal to write my prayers. I prayed for myself, friends, families, authorities and the lost. My journal also consisted of my thoughts, ideas and visions for the future. Writing down my feelings released a burden off my shoulder, I felt as if once I got it down on paper, it could now be off my mind. Journaling is a great inner self-care technique.
