The Power of Believing

The word believe is defined as having confidence in the truth, the existence or the reliability of something, without being supported by facts. In order for prayer to truly work, we must believe that ‘something’ is listening to us. If there is no one or nothing listening to us, than how do we expect our prayers to be answered? We can not hold a conversation over the phone if the person does not answer.

“Trust in The Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding” – Proverbs 3:5

We need to believe that we are praying to be heard. What we believe will shape our reality, so if we can start to trust in The Lord and believe that he is working in our lives for the greater good, than we are ready to pray.

Today’s challenge is to read the following:

  1. John 3:16
  2. Hebrews 11:6
  3. Isaiah 40:31
  4. Romans 10:17
  5. Mark 5:36
  6. John 20:29

*Note for Non-Believers: Read the following scriptures without judgement. Try not think of others opinions or past experiences while reading these scriptures. Free your mind from old thoughts because it will make room for God to give you new thoughts. Let your guards down and open your heart. If you do not give this your all, neither will God.

*Note for Believers: God was with you before you were born and has created a great future for you. Reading these scriptures will build your faith. This is your reminder of the many great things God can do in your life by believing. Make sure to pray before reading the scriptures!!
