There are no words to describe the feeling of losing a loved one. Life will never be the same. There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot [Ecclesiastes 3:1-2]. As humans, we are limited to the infinite knowledge and wisdom that God has. We often look at things from a worldly perspective, not realizing that earth is not our true home.
We are born with an expiration date. It is sad when people are taken before what we think is “there time” and that is the true test of faith. Can we still trust God when he took our loved one? Will our faith increase as we work through grief? How can we live without this person and still remain grounded in faith?
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths [Proverbs 3:5-6]. Grief is a process that can take up to 7 months or 7 years. There is no time limit to dealing with grief. Allow yourself the space and time to heal. Our loved ones will never be forgotten. We must cherish the memories and good times that we had with that person. As we continue on this journey of life without that person, Let us be reminded of God’s glory.
Today, I am praying for those who are dealing with grief and loss. I pray for your heart to be soften and your faith to increase. I pray for and pain and hurt to become peace and understanding. I pray that this day you will reflect back on good memories and lean on The Lord as your comfort knowing that your loved one is no longer in a place that is filled with evil, sin and suffering. Your loved one’s name was written in the book of life and they are in Heaven. A place that knows no evil. no pain. no suffering. A place that angels roam and peace is overflowing. A place where Joy fills the atmosphere and love covers the soul. I am praying for your strength to endure these difficult days. It is okay to mourn. It is okay to cry. Let it out and pour it on God through your prayers and faith. In Jesus mighty name, AMEN.
