Vision Boards are Visual Prayers

Last year, I created a vision board for the first time. I challenged myself to think big, and trust in God. I filled my board with images and things that would have been impossible for me to do by myself and I would need to rely on God. I was tired of working a minimum wage job and was eager to start working in my career field. I had been thinking of going back to school, but working a full-time job, did not leave me any time to dedicate to my studies. I even went one step further and prayed for something beyond my wildest dreams. I knew that if my visions were to come true, it was God working in my life and not something I could take credit for. I added an image of a house to my board. I told God if I could lay out in the grass in my very own backyard, that I would spend time with Him daily.

In 2015, I begin working as a youth counselor and got accepted into a University to begin my Master’s degree in counseling. I went on a vacation to Honduras, Belize, Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico. I encountered wonderful people and made memories that will last a life time. The vision of laying out in the grass talking to God, manifested itself. One day, My boyfriend got a call from his mother informing him that his grandparents are moving back to their home country and no one would be living in their home. She asked him if we would like to move into the house, which will give us an opportunity to save and get on our feet. Needless to see, this was a blessing. We were given a 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom home with a backyard and do not have to worry about bills. I am able to be a full-time student, focus on SmileWithFaith and have my prayer time with God in my very own backyard. My life has unfolded exactly the way my vision board was drawn out, which is why I believe Vision Boards are vital in life. On a day to day basis we do not see much change but when we look back nothing is the same. These boards help us to visually see all the things God is doing in our lives.

My life is a testament that God is real and is working in our lives everyday. If we believe that he has the power to transform our lives and make our dreams come true, He will. If we remain in His word, disciplined and faithful in prayer anything is possible. God wants to bless us abundantly. He wants to give us a life of hope, love, peace and a future of success. This year’s vision board I am doing it again! I seen where God took me in 2015, and I am excited to see where he will take me in 2016!

When creating your vision board, dream big! This is the time to let your imagination run wild. There is nothing in this world that is to big for God. He wants us to think immeasurably more. Don’t limit yourselves by putting things on your vision board that you are limited to do. Instead rely on God to make these visions unfold. Your vision board is your visual  prayers. Believe that these vision will come true with God’s power and grace. But just as you rely on God to make your visions come true, He is relying on you to stay true to him. We have to live according to His word, pray and read His word daily.

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible” – Matthew 19:26
