Negativity

“Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right and pure and lovely and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me – everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you”          – Philippians 4:8

This is a powerful verse! God wants us to fix our thoughts on things that are good and positive . . . but how can we do this if we do not know God’s word. In order for our minds to think good thoughts, we need to know the word of God himself. God’s word teaches us what to focus on, how to think positive in a negative situation and how to remain at peace when dealing with chaos.

If we want to bake a cake but do not know what ingredients to use, than how can we bake a cake? We may know some ingredients such as flour, sugar or eggs but how could we determine the rest of the ingredients? We need to read the recipe! The same goes for God’s word. When we are in a negative situation and want to think positive, we must know God’s word.

God’s word will help us for all the days of our lives. His word teaches strength, peace and love. Reading the bible is an amazing experience, no matter how many times we may read it, each and every time we read it will impact us differently. By reading His word we open up the lines of communication and allow God to speak to the Spirit within us and show us things we have never known.

Today’s challenge consists of two parts. The first part is a short prayer asking God to show you what verse He wants you to read. Allow God to reveal His word and see how this would help you in your life. The second part is to open your bible and stop at whatever page your heart desires.  I believe, that if you believe, God will speak to you through His word. Have faith, and have fun !

*If you stop at a page in the middle of a story, than start from the beginning so you can fully understand the message. No one likes to start watching a movie in the middle of it. Feel free to submit a question in the Questions tab if you need further help. God bless
