“If you ain’t got no haters you ain’t poppin'” – Rico Richie
What is a hater? A person who doesn’t want to see someone else doing good. They talk behind your back, secretly wish bad on you and try to tear you down physically, mentally or spiritually. They focus on your flaws and magnify your insecurities. A haters mission is to hate on what you are doing, who you are or your goals, dreams and ambitions. Simply put, haters hate.
Believers, if you allow a hater’s words to get to you, it can get the best of you. Eventually, their negativity can effect your mood, personality or self-esteem. When a hater hates, you are left with the negativity and it can be difficult to find healthy coping techniques to manage their energy. If someone hears their entire life ‘you can’t do that, you’re worthless or you will never amount to anything’ subconsciously that voice will play in their head when it is time for them to be great. I’m here to remind you, hush that voice!
Hate is a powerful technique Satan uses to hurt people. Those who hold hate in their heart are not of God and as a Believer it is important that you have discernment. You must know how is for you and who is against you. When you are aware of a hater it is easy to remember not to take it personal because they are just doing what a hater does. It is a haters job to hate!
In John 15:18-25, Jesus reminds us that the world hated him first. He was mocked, beaten and disrespected, all for being righteous. Jesus came into the world to help people but the haters did what they do best and He ended up crucified. Do not worry about the hate, instead remember that you do not belong to this world. It is a blessing to have haters because it is a reminder that you are chosen by God and will have a greater reward than anything this world could ever offer. Let the haters hate and keep doing you!
