Happy Independence Day

Today, the United States celebrates the anniversary of national independence. Over 240 years ago, America became a new nation and was no longer apart of the British Empire. This separation helped the U.S to gain it’s reputation as the land of the free and home of the brave. This is the place where dreams come true and nothing is impossible. A mixing pot full of people from different races, ethnicities, cultures and religion makeup the United State’s population.

Unlike other countries, America is about freedom and opportunity. Although, this country has it’s up (establishing human rights) and down’s (Trump is president), if you live in this country, be proud! Enjoy your fourth of July with a hotdog and hamburger, while embracing how far this Country has come and the places it will go in the future.

Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God [1 Peter 2:16]. But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life [Romans 6:22]. Freedom in this world should not be taken for granted because some people do not have it. People are incarcerated or living in poverty, not being able to exercise their freedom. Let’s be thankful for the lives we have while praying for those who are suffering and having their humans rights violated by the country they are living in.

The most important thing to remember is that when freedom in the natural may not occur, there is always freedom in Christ in the spiritual. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom [2 Corinthians 3:17].
