Today is my last day of class. I am beyond excited to finally be done with school work, exams and papers. The summer semester is intensified because it combines 4 months worth of curriculum and condenses it into 10 weeks. Every week there was a quiz due, discussion to post or event to attend. School became a priority in my life, while my website took a back seat.
Throughout the summer I have tried to be consistent with posting a few times a week and having new content for Believers to read but it wasn’t easy. In fact, I started to feel that SmileWithFaith was more of a burden than a blessing. After a long day at my internship, studying and writing; The last thing I wanted to do was sit in front of a computer screen. These past few weeks have been a test to my faith.
I say all this to say, Believers, never let your blessings feel like burdens. When God blesses you it is an amazing feeling. When you first receive a blessing, life seems to be going great. You feel at peace, have things in order and can smile throughout the day. When things start to change, those feelings of joy seem to diminish. If you just got a promotion at work, passed a class you thought you were going to fail or received a big check in the mail; God is good. Yet, overtime stress from the new position kicks in, school feels overwhelming or your finances are tight; Your blessing has turned into a burden.
This is common in humanity. People always want more. They can never be satisfied with what they have; People are never content. They are quick to move on to the next and lose appreciation for what they have in their life. Believers, Thank God that you are in this world and not of this world! You do not belong to humanity, you belong to the creator of humanity! Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”[Hebrews 13:5].
As I reflect back on these past 10 weeks of summer school, I remind myself of the blessings that have come from SmileWithFaith. This website is a platform for Believers worldwide to share testimonies, learn God’s word and grow in faith. Where is the burden in that? The enemy has a way of seeping into our minds and making us forget, neglect or overlook what was once a blessing. Believers, even when things seem to be falling apart, know that God is already working on putting the pieces back together. Remember how far you have come. You are not the same person you are today as you were last year or 5 years ago! Continue to trust in The Lord and acknowledge your blessings. For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope [Jeremiah 29:11].
