Donald Trump is President and The End is Near

Together we will stand but divided we shall fall.

The inauguration took place yesterday, and Donald Trump is officially the 45th president of the free world. This presidency has exposed the many differences within society and the hearts of it’s people. It’s still hard for me to believe that a man that was on celebrity apprentice and has no political experience and doesn’t pay taxes, is the lead figure of The United States. This election has proven to be one of the most controversial presidencies in history. We may feel like life as we know it is over and this is just a sad dream that we will awake from in 4 years, but one thing remains that shall never fail and that is hope.

The many political events, article posts and media coverages have shown a split between those who voted for Trump and those who did not. Regardless of what our personal beliefs and opinions are, the truth remains, Trump is the President. It’s easy to say the negative things about Trump or his supporters, but without a challenge, success will not come.

Believers, in order for us to be successful in this lifetime, we must challenge ourselves in all areas. The challenge is to love others through hatred and look past the behaviors of others. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms [Ephesians 6:12]. The challenge is to encourage those who walk in darkness to turn to the light. Regardless of what people believe or the actions they display, our only job is to love them.  The topic of politics can create tension and cause heated debates, but we must remember to always speak with love and grace despite the topic of conversation.

“Godliness makes a nation Great, but sin is a disgrace to any people” – Proverbs 14:34

Teach those who are misinformed and educate people to have a mind of their own and not follow the majority into destruction. We must challenge ourselves as believers, to continue walking by faith and not by sight. Trump’s election is not the end of the world or the end of our lives. Life must go on and our faith must continue to grow. Put your faith and trust in God knowing that every kingdom on earth shall fail but the Kingdom of God [Daniel 2:44]!

This may feel like the end and were all doomed, but this is only the beginning. Relax and get settled in because there are many many many more years to come. We are currently living through a moment of history and will have stories for generations to come. Just because Donald Trump is president doesn’t mean our lives will stop. We still have to clock in for work, complete homework and take care of family members. The lights still need to be paid and food still needs to be on the table. Don’t spend so much time focusing on the wrong things that it takes away from doing right. Instead, fix your mind on things from above and continue your journey of life [Colossians 3:2]!

Let us love each’s others differences so that we can live in similarity.
