“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.” – 1 John 4:1
People can talk a good game but can they back it up? My friend sent me a video of a man named ‘Brother Polight’ because of his contradictory teachings. She was confused and asked me what I thought of this particular video. I have never seen any of his videos or heard of his name but a few seconds into His video and my discernment picked up on several red flags. He is an educated and highly respected man in His community, but the bigger the vocabulary does not always mean the bigger the truth. In fact, He could not have been speaking further from the truth. People can sound like they know what they are talking about but it doesn’t mean they know what they are talking about. The video began with his claims of how the bible doesn’t speak about ‘black women’ and immediately The Spirit told me, He is not a man of God. As the video continues, He explains his mission in life is to find sovereignty and that there is no God. There was no need to continue watching the video when it was clear that this man was making false claims and does not have a relationship with Jesus Christ. It was plain that He did not have a fear of the Lord and was speaking from mere human knowledge and not heavenly wisdom. God’s word lets me know, if anyone denies Jesus Christ as Lord or acknowledges His resurrection, they are not of God. T
“Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” – 1 Peter 5:8
Believers, Beware of those who make false claims. Do not let big words validate credibility. It’s easy to open a dictionary and find the biggest words to incorporate into speech but it is not easy to get on your knees and surrender to The Lord asking for His heavenly wisdom. We must fix our minds on things from above and not focus on worldly things [Colossians 3:2]. It is easy to state facts and think science or logic but unfortunately the heavenly realm is not meant to be understood through human ways. Although, we can not see the Kingdom of God, through faith and God’s word we are given confirmation of it’s existence.
“Think over what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything.” – 2 Timothy 2:7
Satan uses confusion to break us down. He wants us to be confused so that we may walk down the wide and open and not the narrow path. He wants us to feel troubled and argue with one another. He wants us to get caught up with debating the word of God so that we never read the word of God. Satan uses people to do his work and it begins with confusion. Satan speaks some truth with a lot of lies and if we are not spiritually grounded in our faith, lies and truth will become twisted. We are given discernment through the Holy Spirit and must be aware when it speaks to us. The world may call it female intuitions or gut feelings, but Jesus calls it The Holy Spirit. So, the next time you feel like something or someone just doesn’t seem right, trust it. The Lord will never bring confusion, that is Satan’s job.
