promises God is always honest

God is always honest

“For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.” – 2 Corinthians 1:20

peaceFrom the Old Testament to the New Testament, one thing in common is God’s honesty. Whether He is warning prophets about the destruction to come or sending Jesus to teach people how to live righteously, God’s promises always come to pass.God’s honesty shows throughout the history of mankind. For no word from God will ever fail[Luke 1:37]. We can trust what is written in The Holy Bible, because it is The word of God and God’s word never fails. Not one of all the LORD’s good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled [Joshua 21:45]. It is not in God’s nature to tell a lie nor is it His nature to break a promise. When we read God’s word, we can have full confidence of it’s truth and integrity because God is honest.

“Because he who is blessed in the earth Will be blessed by the God of truth; And he who swears in the earth Will swear by the God of truth; Because the former troubles are forgotten, And because they are hidden from My sight!” -Isaiah 65:16

matthewThose that have Christ in their heart are blessed. It is a blessing to receive God’s truth and understanding. Those who live by the word of God are able to walk with heavenly understanding of this world and all things in it. Our former troubles of sin and disobedience no longer hold us back from the life of hope and prosperity God has promised us [Jeremiah 29:11] because of the cross. The truth is that God no longer sees us and our sin rather He sees His son and gives forgiveness. We are no longer slaves to sin but are now slaves to righteousness and can live freely knowing we have a seat with our name waiting in God’s Kingdom [Luke 10:20].

“But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse!” – Galatians 1:8

This verse in Galatians brings confirmation to the truth of God’s word. If anyone, even an angel from heaven speaks and their speech does not align with the word of God, you can trust that it is not truth. We can live with confident hope, knowing that God’s word is the ultimate truth and there is none higher. Every word of God proves true. He is a shield to all who come to him for protection [Proverbs 30:5]. God’s character is the same today as it was before the creation of mankind and will be beyond the end of time. God is trustworthy because by nature He is Good and right in all things. Rejoice in the truth of God’s word and in His character, praising and giving glory to The Most High who is Honest.

“Not at all! Let God be true, and every human being a liar. As it is written: “So that you may be proved right when you speak and prevail when you judge.” -Romans 3:4
