god is good Day 5: Today's God Vs. Biblical God

Day 5: Today’s God Vs. Biblical God

QuestionWhy does the God in the Bible seem so completely different than today’s God?

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever”- Hebrews 13:8

The truth is that, God has never changed, and never will. He is who He is, forever. However, times have changed. The Lord no longer works in ways as told in the old testament because we no longer live under the law of Moses. We live under the blood of Christ. Today’s world has altered, manipulated and confused the minds of many, convincing them of who or what God is. There are many false prophets in this world, so we have to be aware of who we listen too.

“Dear Friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world. This is how know if they have the Spirit of God: If a person claiming to be a prophet acknowledges that Jesus Christ came in a real body, that person has the Spirit of God. But if someone claims to be a prophet and does not acknowledge the truth about Jesus, that person is not from God.” -1 John 4:1-3

If you are feeling that today’s God is different than the biblical God, pray and ask for clarity and understanding so that you may know in your heart the truth about Him. The media dictates what is shown on T.V or played on the radio and in an era of Kardashians and reality shows, God doesn’t make the cut. People have allowed the opinions of others to determine their faith. People are caught up with worldly things, seeking their own fleshly desires and speaking of things they know nothing about. We must be aware of these types of people, so that we may know the truth.

It is sad that we live in a world full of corruption, hidden agendas and greed, but this world is only temporary. It is not God that needs to change, it is us. We can fully trust and have 100% faith in The Lord Almighty, because we Know that He is all good, all loving and all righteous, for all of eternity. If we want to fully understand who God really is, reading His word, is where to start. When we seek with all of our heart, mind and soul of learning who He is, He will reveal himself. God is not a secret God. He doesn’t hide himself for those who seek, in fact, He does the complete opposite. He wants to provide your every need and fulfill your every desire, but He wants you to have faith and trust in Him before He does.

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will” -Romans 12:2
