“Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.” – Matthew 6:31-32
God is your provider. He knows exactly what you want and need without you telling Him. Not only does He know, but He is happy to provide these things for you. A parent enjoys giving gifts to their children as well as making sure they have the essentials they need. If humans, who are by nature sinful, can give gifts, imagine what your heavenly Father, who is perfect can do. “If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him [Matthew 7:11].” The problem occurs when we are in crisis and begin to feel that God is not there for us. We are struggle to pay bills, can’t put food on the table or buy school clothes for our children. The debt of the world consumes our mind and we tend to focus more on “How will I pay off this debt?” rather than “How will God make a way?”
And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:19
When we become filled with the pressures of finances and the stresses of life, we forget that God is in control. He is not sitting in heaven smiling while we struggle. He wants nothing more for us than to be taken care of and stress free. In order for God to work in our lives, we must have faith in His ability to work. Regardless of what is going on in this world, we must remember that we have already been given victory through Christ who has already overcome this world. Not only must we have faith that God will provide, we must also ask. Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you [Matthew 7:7]. Yes, God already knows what you want, but He also wants you to Go to Him with your wants. My mom used to always tell me ‘Closed mouths don’t get feed’. You have the privilege of communicating with the creator of the heavens and earth. Make sure to utilize the power of prayer.
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. – Matthew 6:33
It is easy to get caught up with things of this world, because we are in this world. However, the challenge comes when we experience worldly struggle but remain hopeful fixing our minds on the kingdom of God. Even when we don’t see a way and it feels like we are walking in darkness, God has already created the way out. He has already made a plan for us to overcome and is cheering us on as we move through the storm. It is important to embrace difficult times because they are meant to prepare us for future blessings. God send’s us specific situations so that we may draw nearer to Him. Even through the struggle, SmileWithFaith because better days are yet to come. This too shall pass, and God is your provider!
Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds! -Luke 12:24
