Question: Why do innocent children have to suffer with terminal diseases such as cancer? What part of ‘God’s plan’ is this exactly?
“Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned”. -Romans 5:12
The moment Eve took the apple from the tree of life, and gave it to Adam to eat, sin entered the world. Sin entered through man (human) and death followed. The wages of sin is death [Romans 6:23]. So, when sin is near, death is around the corner. Sin and death go hand in hand. Now, we live in a world full of sinners which is why we all will experience death sooner or later. However, this is not how God intended us to be. When God created us, He wanted us to flourish, reproduce and explore the world and all His creation. Unlike the angels, we were given free will. We are able to make our own choices, freely. But, since sin entered the world, and death followed, we have no choice whether we die or not. Death is inevitable.
Innocent children diagnosed with terminal diseases, is heartbreaking. There is nothing more that God wants for us, but to prosper and live happy, but we live in a fallen world. The Devil lurks, and He prey’s on the weak. The Lord’s plan for our lives is to give us hope and prosperity [Jeremiah 29:11]. Opposite of the devil’s plan for us. The devil’s plan is to steal, kill and destroy our happiness, peace and life [John 10:10]. Although, it is sad for anyone to suffer from an illness, God’s promise to us, is that suffering is only temporary. When we are at our weakest, The Lord is at His strongest [2 Corinthians 12:9]. When we feel hopeless or alone, the enemy is plotting on how to break our faith. The enemy’s only goal is to see us suffer, but as children of God, we can rest peacefully knowing God’s hand is on our life and He is working for our greater good. There is always a blessing or a lesson in any difficult situation.
We have to remember that the earth is temporary. God’s kingdom is forever. It is devastating to lose a loved one, especially a child, but we have to remember, they will be in a better place. Heaven is real! Heaven is a place without pain, hurt, suffering or tears. It is a perfect place of peace, joy, love and harmony [Revelation 21:4-8]. Those that have passed away are able to experience this blessed and beautiful place. They truly are, in a better place.
