Question: Is my faith just for me or should I actively share it? Will I be condemned if I don’t share/evangelize?
“But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. For it is better, if it is God’s will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil” -1 Peter 3:15-17
As believers, we are all different people, but should come together to form one body under christ. It is important to remember that you are not alone. Although, we each have a our own unique walk with God, we are encouraged to help and support one another in their walk of faith.
- Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ [1 Corinthians 12:12]
- For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function [Romans 12:4]
- And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation [Mark 16:15]
The bible speaks of followers of Christ sharing the good news of the gospel to others, but we are all called to do different things. Some are called to evangelize, while others are called to be painters. We are each given divine talents and gifts from God that are created to be shared with others. My boyfriend and I each have a passion for The Lord, and love speaking about His word. However, He is an introvert and I am an extrovert. I enjoy public speaking while he hates standing in front of large crowds. I love evangelism, and He loves being in quiet places alone lol Does this mean he should be condemned for not sharing or evangelizing? of course not.
God made us all unique for a reason. There is purpose for the different personalities and character traits in the world, everybody is not meant to do the same job. The truth is, as followers of Christ, we should never feel condemned because we have already been forgiven from our sins. There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus [Romans 8:1]
