Question: Why do I exist?
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” – Ephesians 2:10
You exist, because God created you. “So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them [Genesis 1:27] The book of Genesis is the introduction of the bible. Genesis explains how the world was created, how animals and humans were created and most importantly why we were created. When God created us, He wanted us to live freely, happily and reproduce the earth. “Then God blessed and said, ‘Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground – everything that has life.” And that is what happened” – Genesis 1:26
God created us, because it pleased him to do so. Unlike the angels, we are given free will. We have the ability to choose to love and live for The Lord or not too. It is more rewarding when someone loves genuinely and freely rather than forcefully or demanding, same goes for us and God. In revelation 4:11 it says “You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power. For you created all things, and they exist because you have created what you pleased.” He created you so that you may honor Him in all his glory. In fact, you are created to glorify God. “Bring all who claim me as their God. For I have made them for my glory. It was I who created them [Isaiah 43:7]. God created you to love Him and serve Him. He created you to love and help others. When you love Him and others, as well as serve Him and help others, you are glorifying God!
