forgive Day 10: God is forgiving

Day 10: God is forgiving

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”- 1 John 1:9

There is no sin too big to be forgiven. Despite how many times we fall, God will always be there to pick us up. God forgives those who ask. A closed mouth does not get fed and those who do not confess their sin do not receive forgiveness. It’s amazing how easy it is to be forgiven, simply ask through prayer. However, our pride and ego make it difficult for us to seek help. The enemy tries to keep us away from God by making us feel unworthy, lonely or embarrassed. We must be aware when these feelings arise because they are not from God. The truth is, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God [Romans 3:23]. As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one [Romans 3:10]. When our mind tells us we are undeserving, God’s word reminds us to ask for forgiveness and be freed from the enemy’s schemes of separation.

“No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.” – 1 Corinthians 10:13

forgive-1Jesus was tempted 3x in the wilderness, when he fasted for 40 days and 40 nights. Satan lurked and tried to get Jesus to turn from God but Jesus knew his strength because of His father in Heaven. God is faithful and He will never leave us nor forsake us. We will not endure anything that we can not bare because God knows what we can and can not handle. We may be pushed to the edge of our comfort zone but God will never let us fall to our death. In fact, God sent Jesus and now we no longer need to walk down the path of death. Self-defeating thoughts will not bring defeat because the moment we ask for forgiveness, we are freed. Pray for forgiveness. When God forgives, the burdens and struggles of life are no longer carried on our back but is carried on His. We can walk with confidence knowing of our certainty within Christ. Your name is written in heaven and the angels are waiting to rejoice in your return home. Even through the struggle, we can SmileWithFaith because better days are yet to come, God has forgiven us and no matter how many times we stray away, He has already created a path for us that leads to eternal life of hope and love through repentance, acceptance and prayer.

“And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.” – Mark 11:25cross

When we pray and ask The Lord to forgive us, he reminds us that we are already forgiven through the Ultimate Sacrifice. The Lord paid our debt and lifted us from eternity because His love for us is that great. In prayer, we must acknowledge that we are sinners and repentance is not once in a while, it is a lifestyle. When we believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sin, The Lord no longer looks at our sin because he sees His son. We are covered by the blood of Christ. We are not judged by the life we live, we are judged by our faith in Jesus. God came in human form, through the body of Jesus to shed blood and pay the debt of earth’s sinful people. You and me. Lastly, in prayer recognize the need for God’s grace to live and holy Spirit to lead. With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible [Matthew 19:26]. It’s important that we forgive others and live without grudges. We forgive others not because they deserve it but because He has forgiven us.

“Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven;” -Luke 6:36
