By definition the word Aptitude means the ability to naturally do something. Does being grateful come natural? or do you have to remind yourself? Sometimes, it could be both. Buying your first car and finally being on the road. It was new and exciting and you couldn’t wait to show your friends. Yet, months later the excitement starts to decrease and you begin to focus on other aspects of having a new car. Gas money, car insurance and having to keep the maintenance on the car, as more and more money leaves your pocket it takes your gratitude with it. It feels as though what was once new and exciting has turned into stress and worry. However, it is important to remember to Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you [1 Thessalonians 5:15].
Being grateful does not have to be for materialistic things and objects like cars. You can be grateful for your friends, family or pets. Waking up to a new day is a blessing in itself and that deserves an attitude of gratitude. This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it [Psalm 118:34]. Whether big or small, there is always something to be grateful for.
Even if it feels like everything in life is going negative, there is always a positive to find. You may have to try really really hard to find the good and when you do make sure to keep that attitude of gratitude. Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe [Hebrews 12:28].
Believers, no matter what you are going through in your current situation it will not last forever. God did not promise that you will not suffer or have trouble in this world rather He promised that despite it all, your name is written in Heaven and you will enter into His Heavenly Kingdom. I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.[John 16:33].
