I admire the love in her heart and courage to make a change. Women should feel comfortable in their own skin. We must love and respect ourselves and it starts with accepting yourself in its most natural form, make-up free. Although there is a time and a place where makeup may be essential, it should never be considered necessary. When makeup becomes more of a permanent concept than a simple addition to amplify beauty, self-esteem is at stake. Every woman is beautiful in their own way. We are not meant to attract the eyes of many, just the one God sent. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
“I hope to God it’s a revolution,” Keys said. “‘Cause I don’t want to cover up anymore. Not my face, not my mind, not my soul, not my thoughts, not my dreams, not my struggles, not my emotional growth. Nothing.”
The Spirit God gave us does not bring any of these ungodly feelings (low self-esteem, jealousy, hopeless etc…), rather it gives us power, love and self-discipline [2 Timothy 1:7]. When we are happy, life is good. We can smile because we have reasons too. But, what if there was no reason to smile; could you still smile? What if, the only way you felt pretty was with a face full of makeup? This #NoMakeUpMovement is about self-confidence, freedom and bravery empowering women and young girls, to embrace being in your own skin without products.
My heart hurts for the young boys and girls in the world that look in the mirror and feel unhappy with how they look. Don’t you know how beautiful you are to your Creator? When The Lord looks at you, he admires His work. He created us in His image. Those that don’t love themselves, do not see their worth. They have allowed others to determine it. Seeking validations from people because they don’t know themselves and living life fearful. A bird trapped in a cage, longing to be freed. I am happy that Mrs.Keys took the initiative to bring awareness to self-love. Her Spirit of Boldness is exciting to watch. Her gifts and talents are legendary. Her voice and platform are being used for a higher purpose and I can’t wait to meet her one day. We must teach and learn to accept our flaws and feel insecurities because we are loved and valued by the Most High.
Your face, body and physical features were formed specifically and uniquely for you. You were netted together in God’s image and given divine talents.

She explained her thoughts of this photo shoot with photographer Paola Kudacki “It was the strongest, most empowered, most free, and honestly beautiful that I have ever felt,” Keys said. “I felt powerful because my initial intentions realized themselves. My desire to listen to myself, to tear down the walls I built over all those years, to be full of purpose, and to be myself!”
