As I sit and reflect on the life of Jesus Christ, I am reminded of what He did. Jesus came into this world to teach others how to understand the will and ways of God. His entire life was a mission and he did not stop until it was completed. He spent many days of fasting without food or water. He spent many days praying and encouraging others to repent and change their ways. His mission was to unite The Creator with His creation.
Jesus did for me what I could never do for myself. He broke the chains of bondage and freed us from a yolk of slavery. We are no longer slaves to sin and instead have freedom in Christ.
“We know that the person we used to be was crucified with him to put an end to sin in our bodies. Because of this we are no longer slaves to sin. The person who has died has been freed from sin.” – Romans 6:6-7
Jesus restored our relationship with God and allowed us to have direct access to Him through our faith and prayers. He brought the gift of The Holy Spirit and those who believe will receive. Ultimately, his death and resurrection brought salvation to the world!
Could you imagine being nailed to a cross? Giving up your home, job, or car? How about leaving your family and friends to live in the wilderness? Jesus can. Jesus did. Today, I am grateful for God’s grace and love. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son , that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life [John 3:16].
