What is life?
This question has been on my mind for a few days. By definition, life is the existence of an individual human being or animal. Lately, I have been feeling a need to be more than just a human ‘existing’ on earth. There is a difference between living to survive and living to live. I want to live! Live with freedom, walk with purpose and embrace every minute of the day.
Life is precious and should not be taken for granted. Every new day is a gift from the Heavens. Millions of people did not get the opportunity to see today. Yet, most people wake up miserable, fall into a repetitive cycle of routine and barely hold on to their sanity. Are you not created for more than to just work and die?
If one thing is for certain it is death. The moment you were born, you were given an expiration date. Your days on earth are numbered. While you have these days, it is up to you to make use of it. Is it worth it to spend your days worrying? stressing? feeling miserable? trapped? anxious?
Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? [Matthew 6:26]. If God takes care of all the birds in the sky, how much more will he take care of you? Life is not meant to perfect. There will be barriers to overcome, obstacles to jump through and suffering that feels like you can’t go on, but because God is at work in your life for the greater good, all of these hardships will be used for your favor and bring the most glory to God [Romans 8:28].
This thing called life is a blessing. It is filled with laughter, adventure, tears and heartbreak. Yet, throughout it all, those who God has called and saved by his grace can live this crazy life covered in his peace and wrapped in his love. Enjoy this life, you will not get another one.
