Let us cleanse ourselves from everything that can defile our body or Spirit. And let us work toward complete holiness because we fear God [2 Corinthians 7:1]. It is time we stop saying and start doing. It may seem as though, living holy means giving up all the things that we love but this is quite the contrary. The desires of the flesh is the cause of our separation from God. The more we chose to follow our flesh, the wider the gap between us and our Heavenly Father.
God has given us instructions to live by such as being sober minded, never stealing or killing and not having sex outside of marriage. These guidelines are not created to be strict and keep us from having fun, in fact, they are given to us so that we may enjoy life to our fullest potential. The flesh will view any instruction from God as rigid or unfair, but the Spirit loves and accepts these commands and is eager to obey by them.
If we do not start removing negative, unhealthy and ungodly things from our hearts, minds and bodies; We risk the possibility of living a stagnant life and moving further and further from what our soul needs most, God. In order for us to live in this world and be made right with The Lord, it starts by working towards righteous living. We are not perfect and no one is good, but God knows the heart and judges accordingly. Let us live with fear of The Lord so that we may start living holy and stop focusing on worldly desires that will only leave us empty and broken. Let us live in the Spirit and not the flesh. Fast, pray and read God’s word daily.
