Day 18: The Trinity

Question: How can one God be three persons?

“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach             you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you”            – John  14:26

When I was younger, I attended a catholic church. We would always close with giving thanks to The father, Son and The Holy Spirit. This was always confusing to me. I didn’t quite understand how all three could equal one God. As I grew in faith, and gained spiritual understanding, the answer was simple. Just as we are human, we have a mind, body and soul; So, too does God consists of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The Father, is who God is. It’s His title. Our heavenly Father, creator of the Universe, God of Israel, Moses and Abraham. The son represents Jesus christ, who was sent to save the world from sin. The bible explains that Jesus, is indeed, God in human form. Since, God is so holy and so good, He is unable to be in the presence of sin. The earth was and still is filled with sin, which is why we are unable to see God physically. In fact, in Exodus 33:20 The Lord said to Moses “you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live.” The Lord is that holy! Our sin stands in the way of us seeing God because His Goodness destroys Badness, instantly.

Sin and God can’t be in the same room, ever.

The Holy Spirit, is God’s Spirit. We are all humans, but we have a Spirit within. By nature, we are sinful, which is why it’s important to seek and receive The Holy Spirit. After Jesus crucification, God allowed us access to this gift of The Holy Spirit through baptism. “The Bible clearly speaks of: God the Son, God the Father, and God the Holy Spirit. But emphasizes that there is only ONE God. If we were to use math, it would not be, 1+1+1=3. It would be 1x1x1=1.”
