Rotten Apples

applesRotten Apples are like those friends we have, that are bad for us. The people that secretly wish us harm, have cruel intentions or are destructive to be around. In other words, they are the good apples gone bad. Eve made one of the biggest mistakes in all of mankind, but her legacy is an example of the consequences that can occur from a rotten apple. Snow White is another person who experienced a rotten apple when it was given to her by the wicked witch.  But neither a serpent nor witch could keep us from reaching our divine destiny and only faith produces good apples.

“Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.” – 1 Corinthians 15:33

My mother used to tell me “birds of a feather flock together.” But, as a teenage rebel I refused to understand. As I got older and ventured off on my own, her words remained in my conscious. The people we surround ourselves with, truly have an impact within our lives. We must make effort to surround ourselves with uplifting, positive and encouraging souls. Now, I am able to comprehend the meaning of my mother’s infamous line.  People will form opinions, based on people they see around us. For example, If my friends are skateboarders, people may think I know how to skateboard, when I really don’t. Ultimately, If we want success, we must be surrounded by successful people.
