Calm before the storm

Matthew 8:23

While Jesus was sleeping on a boat, a storm came over. The waves of the storm entered the boat, and his disciples feared of drowning. His disciples ran to awake up Jesus and said “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” and he replied “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and stopped the winds and the waves. The storm was calm. The men were in complete shock after witnessing Jesus completely calm the storm.  His disciples said “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”

Those that have little faith, have little blessings. Jesus knew that God is able to alter weather and had faith that God would quiet the storm. Jesus also, knew not to be afraid or fearful of anything because God was with him just like God is with us always. Sometimes we can forget that we are not created with a spirit of fear, and we must always have Big Faith! The moment the disciples felt they were going to drown, they began to doubt that God was with them and would keep them safe. Jesus taught how important faith is. With faith, we could quiet a storm!
